Twilight descending

Sun takes one more look at day

Shuts its fiery eyes

I’d like to dedicate this song to those like me getting back into exercising or those who have been doing it for a very long time. This song is for you. So, are you trying to get back out there or are you a seasoned veteran? Just curious. Have a good night.

Tuesdays with Mike and The Mike Beem Chronicles (6/20/2017): A Zombie Christmas 2

5 Stars out of 5: I dearly love this author’s short stories.

Description: A boy lost. A family desperate. It’s Christmas in a Zombie Apocalypse and Mike Beem is once again aiming for another Holiday miracle. His goal this year isn’t toys for the kids in the neighborhood. His goal this time is trying to save one small life so another family doesn’t have to suffer the way he suffered.

Mike lay in restless slumber, haunted by this world, haunted by the memories of those who had fallen, haunted by the ghosts of his past.

Donna Marie snuggled in close to him and stroked his long grey hair, trying to soothe him, trying to help him sleep. As she looked at him, lying there, she couldn’t believe she had fallen for a man who was just past 40-years-of-age.

Mike stirred, and opened his eyes. He turned his face to meet her eyes. She might have been 32, but her eyes carried the worry and trouble of so many who now lived in this world. “Couldn’t sleep?” He asked.

“I worry about you when you’re out there,” she replied, as Mike held her close. “We’re working clogs operating in a broken clock.”

“Are you worried about me going back out for that kid, Tommy?”

“Not just that. Every time you go out I worry about you. I wish you could just stay here and let everyone else do the running. Lord knows you’ve done more than most in this world. Building this place alone qualifies you for that,” Donna Marie replied, rolling over and sitting up. She slipped out of bed and covered her topless body with a house robe. She walked over to the window and looked outside. The snow was no longer falling, but the ground was covered in a heavy layer of white. Somewhere close to a foot, maybe a bit more, she guessed.

Blog Updates and Changes

This site is now back to awrenfro.com and it will stay that way for a while. I don’t know if that change was the reason why this blog had one of its worst weeks ever or if it was just the week itself. It could have been that early June is just the time for people to take vacations. Schools just let out. Families are heading off to do things together. The weather is warm. People want to be outside. I assume that is the reason why most of my posts dropped with few likes and my traffic died. It could be that changing this blog address caused the problem. I honestly don’t know, but I am planning to make changes to this blog as we speak.

First thing I plan to do is move One Writer Ranting over to here. I will then shut down that blog. That way I can focus all my efforts on just one place. That also means lots of new and exciting things for you guys that follow me on this blog. I posted a schedule below of what all the new stuff will be. Don’t worry, I plan to keep doing Haiku and Poetry on this site, but like I said in a post like this before it will be limited. I honestly don’t have a lot of Haiku popping into my head these days. I hope that muse will return soon, but at least you guys have some new stuff to view and enjoy while I wait for her return. I think I might also stop trying to create new blogs. This blog is running great. Why mess with it like I recently did? Right? Time to just make this one better. Okay, here is the schedule. I look forward to seeing you somewhere around the blog.

New Blog Schedule

Sunday: Tales from the Blog (One page of one of my stories each and every week at 6 A.M.).

Monday: Right now – Zip, Zero, Nada. This is my quiet day for now.

Tuesday: It will either be Tuesdays with Mike or Tuesday Promotions. Just a little self promotion for me and my stories.

Wednesday: Wednesday Quotes and for a short time Cover Reveals (though this is about to end). I also have a few other odds and ends I drop on this day.

Thursday: Cool Posters (this too is about to end).

Friday: Jimmy Buffett Friday and when they are available my Cheap Covers at 2 o’clock. I also occasionally do something concerning my stuff on Threadless.

Saturday: Again, Zip, Zero, Nada. This is my quiet day for now. Who knows? Cover Song Saturday might just return in the future.

That’s it. Thanks for putting up with me. Blogging (as most of you know) is a constant change. We bloggers are always striving to make our work stand out in a very crowded pack. That’s all I’m doing. I hope you like the changes.

Tales from the Blog (6/18/2017): Devil at the Wheel 3

“My uncle.”

“You’re dreaming. There’s no way he’s going to let you take out that Chevelle.”

“He ain’t going to know we did it.” Mike leaned a little closer to Vin, as he delivered the next part of his speech. “You see, he’s going out of town this weekend; and all we need to do is borrow it on Saturday and bring it back on Sunday, washed and clean, easy as a slice of pie.”

“He’s not going to take it when he leaves?”

“Never does. He’s got his traveling car for long trips. He only takes out the Chevelle when he’s home or trying to get laid.”

“So, it’s just going to be sitting there, ready for the taking.” Vin was getting super exited now. To drive a mint 1970 Chevy Chevelle, like the one he was restoring, would be like losing his virginity all over again.

“Ready and easy, lickety pleasy.”

“Time?” Vin was just thinking of the car now. He could almost feel that wheel in his hand and that power underneath his butt, smell the burning rubber, and hear the tail pipes as they roared out that sweet powerful engine music . . . to be continued next Sunday at 6 A.M. Do you need to catch up? Check out the Category “Tales from the Blog” in order to do so. Thanks for reading. Have a great Sunday.
